The Heat is On! Not really, but can we at least pretend like it is summer in Erie?

There are so many new friends to enjoy in Erie. Baby Luc (pronounced Luke) arrived in June and Lyla was born in May. I still can't quite understand why they can't play yet, but mom keeps telling me to be patient and they'll both be playing in no time. We have been to the zoo and over to friends' houses for BBQs. Summer is definitely a much busier time in Erie, so many things to do outside to enjoy the weather. We only got about 85 a couple of days - good thing, no AC at our house. But like everywhere else, it was an "unseasonably" cool summer. All of these Erie people keep saying "unseasonably" everything... winter, summer, etc. My family is starting to lose faith that there is ever a normal anything up here!

I did get a trip to Cleveland and Chicago. Mom's roommate, Carrie was in Cleveland visiting her parents with her 3 kiddos. We spent the night down there and had all kinds of fun with Ronan, Brennan and Emerson. The next day it was off to Chicago for my annual trip to the Windy City. This year was so much better now that I'm moving. We stayed with the Kalmii crew and had all kinds of fun.

I got to meet Jacob, my mom and his mom were Kappas together. He has a great house with this rooftop deck. Wish I could be up high like that all of the time!

Mom and Cha Cha Raney got to go to the Billy Joel/Elton John concert at Wrigley. They didn't take me along, but I heard they had a rockin' good time. I got to stay home with Uncle Scott and Henry. We had a ball and seriously investigated every toy in Henry's room. Turns out he has some pretty cool stuff, and wow can we make a mess! The next night I got to pick Henry up from Miss Janet's house and it was off to Schoolyard Tavern for dinner. We shared fried mac 'n cheese - so good - and got to enjoy the other GNO ladies. Henry and I put on a show for the other diners that night, but overall, we were pretty well behaved if I do say so myself!

Back home in Erie, dad and I got to enjoy his new bike trailer. This thing is great! I have my yellow chick helmet, keeps my super safe while totally stylin', and you sit in the back of this thing with Piggy and snacks... I could ride forever. It is nice to have a little Dad time too, even better for mom to be Caroline-free!

More Beach Smiles

Beach Time - So much fun!

I decided to give walking a try the day before we left Indy for Marco Island, FL. It really couldn't have been a more perfect time because I was able to stroll on into the water by myself and check out all of the cool things the ocean has to offer. Our condo was right on the beach and I spent my days collecting shells, swimming and taking some rock star naps! We went out to eat for lunch quite frequently and I perfected my restaurant skills - I'm pretty patient as long as I have a snack trap filled with treats. Daddy was able to stay for a week and Auntie Allison came down for 5 days.

Marco Island is south of Naples so the water in the ocean had been warming up for me all summer long. 89 degrees, not bad... felt like bath water. Madi and I played more than ever. Pal would build card houses out of coasters and I would knock them down. Allison taught me the joys of water guns... and my parents, well they just enjoyed the Caroline-free time together. It was so nice having so many helping hands.

Two weeks passed quickly by and we headed home on 4th of July. I missed Daddy and was ready to be in my own home/bed after a long month of traveling. It was a terrific month, a kid really can't ask for more!

Indianapolis Adventures

Another exciting part of Indianapolis was getting to meet some new friends. We went to the Landis' house to play with their girls - Anna and Lauren. Anna and I are really close in age, oh what fun we are going to have when she's moving around. Then Deacon Tebbe came over to my house for an early morning play date. I couldn't get enough of his blond hair, and even pushed him around on my bike at Grandma's!

Daddy and I worked on my piano skills, still need a little practice but everyone already thinks I'm a natural. Had some visits from Uncle Tim and Aunt Budi, we went to the pool and I showed off my back stroke skills! All in all it was a terrific week. Nothing better than Grandma's house for some good old spoiling! : )

June - Summer Travels

June was a month filled with travels to all of my favorite families. It started in Kansas City. Mom and I went home to celebrate another baby on the way in September. Can't wait to play with Baby Girl Pignotti. While I was in KC, I got to see all kinds of friends. Georgia Boyd and I went to the pool, met some new friends at Kindermusick at Village Church and even got to play in my great grandpa Heavy's truck - the Scout. It was a terrific trip and I really love my KC fan club!

Next I was home for a grand total of 16 hours before jumping into the car with my parents and Charlotte to head off to Indianapolis. Mom and Dad left me at the Grandparent's house for a fun weekend at DePauw University - it was there 10 year college reunion. Wow they are old! They enjoyed pretending to be college kids again and catching up with lots of old friends. They keep telling me that I'm going to visit there someday, guess I'll just have to wait a little while longer!
